How it works

Spend on Barclaycard.Covered already.

01

Spend on your Barclaycard, as normal.

Collect your Avios, earn your cashback, take the 0% period. Nothing changes on your end.

02

Potzo moves the same amount from your Monzo account into a pot.

Automatically, when the transaction settles. Syncing runs every hour, and refunds flow back out of the pot too.

03

Your Monzo balance always tells the truth.

What you see is what you can actually spend. Your Barclaycard bill is always covered.

Open Banking

You authenticate directly with Barclays. Potzo never sees your login details, card number or PIN. How we keep your data safe →

Barclaycard cards that work

Amazon Barclaycard, Avios Plus (£20 monthly fee), Avios, Rewards, Forward, Platinum Every Barclaycard connects the same way, whether you are collecting Avios, taking cashback, or sitting on a 0% period.

Automatic

Automatically set aside money for your Barclaycard bill

Potzo reads your cleared Barclaycard transactions and moves the same amount into a Monzo pot. You connect the card once.

If you are collecting Avios, most of your spending goes on the card. Potzo keeps your Monzo balance matched to it.

What people are saying

"This is the only thing I've ever wanted from Monzo."

"Certainly feels missing from Monzo."

Frequently asked questions

Can I move money to a Monzo pot every time I spend on my Barclaycard?

Yes - that's exactly what Potzo does. Link your Barclaycard via Open Banking and, when each transaction settles, Potzo moves the same amount from your Monzo account into a pot you choose. Your Barclaycard bill is always covered.

Which Barclaycard cards are supported?

All of them, including the Amazon Barclaycard and both Avios cards.

Does Potzo work with my Tesco Bank card too?

Yes, but as a separate connection. Tesco Bank credit cards are issued by Barclays Bank UK PLC, though you connect to Potzo through Tesco Bank directly. If you hold both, connect each one.

How does Potzo sync my Barclaycard to Monzo?

Potzo connects to your Barclaycard via Open Banking and reads your cleared transactions. When each transaction settles, Potzo moves the same amount from your Monzo account into a pot - automatically, without you doing anything.

How often does Potzo sync?

Potzo syncs every hour, so your pot keeps up with your spending through the day.

Do I need a Monzo account?

Yes. Potzo works by moving money into Monzo pots. You'll need an active Monzo account to use it.

Will this affect my Avios or my 0% period?

No. Potzo only reads your transactions and moves your own money between your Monzo account and your Monzo pot. It doesn't touch your Barclaycard, so your rewards and your promotional rates carry on exactly as they were.

Can I use Potzo right now?

The beta is live, but it's invite-only. Leave your email on potzo.cc and we'll send you an invite - we let a new batch of people in each week. It's free while in beta.

Is Potzo secure?

Yes. Potzo connects via Open Banking - we never see your login credentials or card numbers. Connections are handled through a regulated Open Banking provider.

Is Potzo official?

No. Potzo is independent and not officially affiliated with Monzo or Barclaycard. We connect to both via regulated connections.

Does it cost anything?

Potzo is free during the beta. If pricing ever changes, we'll tell you clearly before anything happens.
